Shipping Labels and Delivery Options

Carrier-connected merchants can create shipping labels directly from QrX, either in PortalX or through the API. For UPS Payment On Delivery shipments, QrX combines the carrier label with the QrX payment label so the payment QR code travels with the parcel.

Creating Labels

  • Create a transaction in PortalX (or via API) with the delivery address and shipment details, then assign a shipping method to generate the label.

  • For UPS Payment On Delivery, the printed label set includes both the UPS label and the QrX payment label with the QR code the consumer scans at the door.

  • Labels can be printed per transaction or in bulk from the transactions list. Printer behavior is configured under Settings → Printing, and label layouts can be customized with the ZPL designer.

Delivery Options

When creating a transaction or assigning a shipping method you can choose delivery options where the carrier supports them, such as Signature Required, Adult Signature, Direct Delivery Only, and Saturday Delivery. For Payment On Delivery shipments on QrX's own UPS contract, Signature Required and Direct Delivery Only are always applied, because the parcel may only be released after payment at the door.

Tracking

After a label is created, the transaction shows live carrier tracking status in PortalX, updated automatically as the carrier reports events. Consumers can follow the same shipment on the merchant's branded Track & Trace page when enabled.

Test Mode

Accounts in test mode create labels against the carrier's sandbox environment, so you can test the full flow without real shipments. Switch to live mode before shipping real parcels.

When to Contact Our Support Team

Contact QrX support directly if label creation fails repeatedly, a shipment is reported as "not allowed" or without a rate for a supported route, labels print incorrectly after your printer configuration was verified, or the carrier does not process a created shipment.
